The creators of the documentary series “Killzone” got exclusive access to one of the most effective unmanned systems units within Ukraine’s Defense Forces — the “Phoenix” UAV group. This means viewers will get to see what usually never makes it on camera.

The main character of the documentary project is military journalist Oleksandr Yermakov. Since 2022, his mission has been to document the combat work of border guards on the frontline — you’ve probably seen his footage on this channel before. But in 2025, he made a major decision: to switch roles and become an FPV drone pilot in the “Phoenix” unit.

The project took over six months to produce — from summer 2025 to winter 2026. Across 5 episodes, you’ll see how drone pilots repel assaults and stop enemy infantry, why border guards built their own “underground factory,” and how intense the fight against russian UAV operators has become. You’ll also see the risks drone operators face every single day while building the “killzone.”
