Kallas’ plan to support Ukraine is underway, with Europe stepping in to cover the USA share

1️⃣ Ammunition

In Paris, European countries agreed to supply 2 million rounds of various calibers.

🇨🇿 Czech PM P. Fiala said if funding is secured, Czechia will deliver another 1.5 million rounds in 2025, as in 2024.

Europe can now supply Ukraine with over 3.5 million large-caliber shells, excluding domestic production.

2️⃣ Military aid

€17 billion in additional military aid was confirmed, though it’s unclear if all of it is new.

Recent contributions include:

🇳🇴 Norway: +€4.5 billion, total €7.5 billion
🇩🇪 Germany: +€3 billion, total €7 billion
🇳🇱 Netherlands: +€2 billion, total €5.5 billion
🇬🇧 UK: +€1.8 billion, total €5.5 billion + €3.12 billion in loans
🇸🇪 Sweden: +€1.4 billion, total €3.7 billion
🇮🇹 Italy: +€0.5 billion, total €1.7 billion
🇵🇹 Portugal: +€150 million, total €260 million
🇪🇪 Estonia: +€70 million, total €370 million

Another €3.58 billion is expected from other European and NATO countries, possibly including €3 billion from France (with €2 billion from frozen assets).

❔ It’s unclear if France’s €2 billion is part of its annual €3 billion commitment or additional aid.

3️⃣ Additional aid expected in 2025

🇧🇪 Belgium: €1.7 billion from taxes on frozen russian assets
🇪🇸 Spain: €1 billion
🇱🇹 Lithuania & 🇱🇻 Latvia: €300 million each

Based on 2024 data, expected contributions include:

🇩🇰 Denmark: ~€3 billion
🇫🇮 Finland: ~€1.5 billion

Czechia, Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania also provide aid but don’t disclose exact amounts.

4️⃣ The big picture

In the past 2 months, EU countries have added €13.4 billion + a €3 billion UK loan to aid Ukraine.

While the USA contributed $24 billion in 2024, Europe has now pledged enough to cover the gap.

In total, Europe approved €35 billion for 2025, excluding aid from Czechia, Poland, Bulgaria, and possible EU contributions.

Europe, without the USA, has met NATO’s $40 billion annual aid target.

In 2025, Europe is also covering nearly the entire €38 billion deficit in Ukraine’s budget.

🇫🇮🇺🇸 Finnish President Alexander Stubb revealed what happened during a 7-hour golf game with Trump

1️⃣ Trump asked: “Can you trust Vladimir Pootin?”

🗣️ Stubb’s response: “No, I cannot trust him.”

2️⃣ Ce𝒂sefire proposal

Stubb told Trump that achieving a c𝒆𝒂sefire requires a clear deadline.

Finland’s proposal: April 20.

🗣️ “Why April 20? Because a deadline is necessary. Today is Easter, and by then, Trump will have been in power for about three months.”

3️⃣ Ensuring compliance

🗣️“To guarantee the c𝒆𝒂sefire, a tough s𝒂nctions mechanism is needed, ready to be enforced if Russia refuses to comply or violates the agreement.”

4️⃣ New s𝒂nctions package

Stubb discussed a new s𝒂nctions plan with Senator Lindsey Graham and Trump:

  • Graham plans to propose the package soon in the USA with support from around 50 senators.
  • Graham and Trump have a close relationship, which increases the likelihood of the proposal gaining traction.

🗣️ “Patience is running out in the USA, which I see as a positive. Graham is very unhappy with Russia’s actions, its intrigues, and its delays in agreeing to a c𝒆𝒂sefire.”

5️⃣ Russia only understands strength

🗣️ “I made it clear to Trump — Russia only respects strength. This means tough s𝒂nctions and using frozen russian 𝒂ssets to support Ukraine.”
