The appointment of Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas as the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy is a turning point for Europe. Known as the new “Iron Lady” (after Margaret Thatcher) PM Kaja Kallas leads a country of 1.3 million Estonians, threatened by neighbor Russia. She’s been one of the fiercest opponents of Putin, and was previously considered “a hawk”, by many appeasers in the EU.
Now as all of Europe fears further Russian aggression, she has been proven prescient.
As Estonian PM, Estonia has given more aid to Ukraine per capita, than any other country. That is LEADERSHIP.
Her leadership in this new role has a much higher likelihood for peace in Europe, than the appeasement tendency that existed prior to 2022 in Europe.
NATOs entire reason for being, since 1949, 75 years ago, has been to defend against Russia aggression. So it is not surprising the best leaders, for both NATO and the EU, will come from those countries most exposed to Russian aggression, and Estonia is likely the most exposed. Because Estonia is most exposed of all NATO countries, on a daily basis, they are more familiar with Russian propaganda, information operations, espionage, cyber attacks and the full scale threat of Russian occupation.
This is why PM Kallas can most articulately and clearly identify the threat, and call out Putin’s rhetoric.
Europe just became more safe because of the EU appointment of Prime Minister Kaja Kallas.

What a great choice for the sake of the real and sustainable peace in Europe to elect Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas as High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

(The worst fears of Lavrov happened, “estonisation” is happening = true fight with real grit for sustainable freedom not a shameful “peace”(leaving people suffering under occupation, giving Russia a break so it can come with the greater force)
