British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation  offered Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asylum in the United Kingdom, but he refused.

The British leader spoke about this in an interview with the  Sunday Times , noting that asylum for the President of Ukraine and his family was discussed.

“He is an absolutely charming guy, but also proved to be an inspiration to many people and a heroic military leader,” Johnson said.

Recall that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, it was reported that the US authorities offered Zelensky to assist in the evacuation , if necessary, but he refused.

  1. You can say what you want about Zelensky prior to this war, but right now IMHO he’s the right man at the right time at the right place.

    • I agree. Indeed, he was not very popular here and in Ukraine before the mafia attack. Things have changed 100% since the war started. He’s doing a fabulous job … just like Ukraine’s fighters. I often wonder how Poroshenko would have conducted himself. It’s his credit that Ukraine’s military has become so strong. At any rate, Zelensky is spot on.

  2. Boris should have known that Zelensky won’t leave Kyiv. He’s already said before, he doesn’t need a ride, he needs ammo. Give him bigger weapons instead of asylum!
