John McCain: “Ashamed of my country” over Ukraine response

On Feb 22, 2015, Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, discussed his disappointment with America’s lack of response to the Ukraine crisis.

The Republicans twice nominated candidates for the presidency who clearly understood the reality of Putin’s vile fascism: John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012. Both were defeated by Obama, who has made statements since the Putin holocaust was unleashed in 2022 that prove that his position on Ukraine is virtually identical to that of Trump. Another illustration of the horseshoe of politics:

“There’s a reason why there was not an armed invasion of Crimea: because Crimea was full of a lot of Russian speakers and there was some sympathy to the view that Russia was representing its interests,” he added.”

More about this man’s offensive ignorance and stupidity in the following Politico article from last year :

Now the GOP is on the verge of a historical and terrible mistake: the nomination of a Manchurian Candidate with a difference. This one is overtly pro-Russia and unequivocally anti-Ukraine. For proof of this, see the following jaw-droppingly embarrassing video:

At the 1.10 point of the following video, Trump actually states that “Putin is going to take over all Ukraine.” :-

  1. John: “The next will be Mariupol so he can establish a land bridge to Crimea.”

“The Ukrainians aren’t asking for American boots on the ground, they are asking for weapons to defend themselves.”

    “They are being slaughtered.”

“I am ashamed of my country, I’m ashamed of my president and I’m ashamed of myself that I haven’t done more to help these people……”

    No one listened.

    • This shows that McCain was one of the few US Senators with real foreign policy insights. I wasn’t a fan, because he occasionally engaged in radicalism (“bomb, bomb, bomb Iran!”), but he was several steps ahead of most others, I have to admit.

      • Why? Bombing iran would be a good and righteous thing to do. I want to see wave after wave of B-52s leveling that trash country once and for all.

  2. Would be good if a pro-Ukrainian group in the US spread this as a video ad, targetting Republican voters. Much more should be done to lobby for Ukraine in the States, imho. This is important, the blockade of the deliveries has to be ended!

    • Based on what I’ve heard from my sources in DC there is enough votes to have a positive outcome for Ukrainian aid. It’s only being screwed around by the republican leadership, not all but some. For instance; Rep. McCaul is a strong supporter and is the chair of the Foreign Relations Committee. To me and IMO it’s only the freakin MAGA jerks that are holding up the bill. Ukrainian blood is on their hands, may they rot in hell.

    • It would be useless, Mr. Gray. To be influenced by this great man, they would need at least a small speck of integrity, which they don’t have.
