It’s time to take a stand

Conservatives 4 Ukraine

Tucker Carlson is the most prominent Ukraine critic on the right, and I am glad he’s being answered.

No Putin Republicans

Ben Shapiro called out Tucker Carlson as a threat to conservatism in a hour long Wednesday afternoon speech at the Heritage Foundation.

He said Carlson is an “opponent of conservatism,” an “outsider masquerading as an insider” who is “destroying the character of the conservative movement.”

Shapiro believes conservatism without “ideological borders” risks being co-opted by populists, nationalists and others opposed to core conservative principles.

Commentator Mark Levin was outraged by what he described as Carlson’s fawning interview with Vladimir Putin and defense of Syria’s former dictator Bashar Assad.

Levin is in complete agreement with Shapiro and says “Carlson is a bigot. He’s unpatriotic, a serial liar, a conspiracy crackpot, an antisemite, and hellbent on undermining our country in service to various enemies. . .

“Trump was correct in authorizing the destruction of Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities but Tucker thought it was awful. With Tucker it is always America Last, and hatred of the Jews first! The sooner he moves to his new home in Qatar the better.” Image credit: Trigger Nometry

Daily Wire:

Ben Shapiro described conservatism as a welcoming movement emphasizing the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, and a strong national defense.

According to Shapiro, Carlson is a populist who opposes the free market. “It is why he has praised left-wing figures ranging from Elizabeth Warren to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Zohran Mamdani,” Shapiro said.

Shapiro criticized Carlson for rejecting limited government, and praising feudalism over the Constitution. Shapiro argued that true conservatism defends the Founders’ system of checks and balances and federalism.
“To Tucker Carlson, the Constitution is a mere ruse, a sham. Instead, Carlson promotes conspiracy theories.”

He believes Carlson has abandoned the “peace through strength” approach in favor of one excusing hostile regimes such as Russia, China, Iran, and Venezuela. He said Carlson repeatedly has soft or sympathetic interviews with people downplaying adversaries’ aggression, while constantly criticizing the United States and its allies.

Shapiro went on to make the case that Carlson prioritizes conspiracy theories, and uncritical promotion of figures like Alex Jones, Andrew Tate, and Nick Fuentes over truth and moral integrity.
“Truth is simply not Carlson’s priority. Evidence is not of value to him, Shapiro said. “And so Tucker has trafficked in nearly every conspiracy theory under the sun.”

Shapiro slammed Tucker for accusing the Trump administration of “covering up a Mossad-run child sex trafficking ring.”

IN THE KNOW

Levin defends Zelensky, Ukraine amid sharp words from Trump

BY AILIA ZEHRA 02/21/25

Conservative pundit Mark Levin of Fox News on Wednesday sought to defend Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, who has come under days of criticism from President Trump over the Ukraine war.

Levin said Russia, which invaded Ukraine in 2022, is to blame for the war and defended its president and Parliament.

“The [Ukrainian] Parliament — with all parties in the Parliament — support what he’s doing. They’re trying to survive,” Levin said on his Wednesday broadcast.

“Ukraine did not invade Russia. Russia invaded Ukraine.”

“Elections have consequences, so be it. But I want to make sure the facts are on the table and you, the American people, draw your own conclusion,” he continued.

“MAGA doesn’t support Putin,” Levin added.

Levin’s public remarks are notable given Trump’s repeated criticisms of Ukraine and Zelensky, and the relative silence to that criticism from Republicans and conservatives, who have sought to avoid any criticism of the new president.

Trump has blamed Ukraine for starting the war with Russia, even though Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 after occupying and annexing the Crimea region in 2014. Russia, which is widely seen as the instigator of the conflict, also supported armed groups in eastern Ukraine battling the government ahead of its invasion.

Trump campaigned on ending the Russia-Ukraine war, arguing it never would have started if he had been president and decrying the continued bloodshed.

On Friday, after Levin’s remarks, he said Zelensky should not be a part of meetings with Russia because it would be harder to get a deal.

Earlier, Trump had accused Zelensky of taking advantage of the United States and decried his “terrible job” leading his war-torn country.

The Ukrainian leader responded to those earlier comments by saying Trump “lives in this disinformation space.”

Some signals from Trump’s team have been more favorable toward Zelensky.

On Friday, Trump’s special envoy to Ukraine and Russia called Ukrainian President Zelensky an “embattled and courageous leader” following his meetings in Kyiv on Friday.

“A long and intense day with the senior leadership of Ukraine. Extensive and positive discussions with @ZelenskyyUa, the embattled and courageous leader of a nation at war and his talented national security team,” the envoy, Keith Kellogg, posted Friday morning on the social platform X.

Ben Shapiro is always saying very smart and to the point things. Very rarely do I disagree with him. And his view on Ukraine and Russia is very correct in my opinion. He is like really into reading books and doing research the traditional way instead of just grabbing some populating points.

James Lambert

Valerie Bend : he needs prayer and support in this effort. He has to have thought long and hard before stepping out on this issue, knowing it would bring a firestorm from the alt-right. But he’s speaking out because he knows it’s worth it, and it’s time to call people to sanity.

WHEN CHINA OPENLY DISCUSSES THE DIVISION OF RUSSIA

Something extraordinary — and largely unnoticed in Europe — just happened.

One of China’s largest media platforms, NetEase, published an article titled:

“IF RUSSIA COLLAPSES, 7 MILLION SQUARE KILOMETERS CANNOT BE LOST.”

This is not Western analysis.
This is not NATO messaging.
This is mainstream Chinese media, openly and calmly discussing how to absorb Russia’s Far East.

And that matters.

The article does not speak in emotional or ideological terms. It speaks in cold strategic logic:

  • The Russian Far East is described as a “chicken rib” for Moscow — costly, distant, difficult to exploit.
  • For China, it is portrayed as a “treasure” — rich in resources, space, and long-term strategic value.
  • Fewer than 50,000 Russian troops remain in the entire region — an “empty shell.”
  • Russia’s economy is dismissed as smaller than that of a single Chinese province.
  • Military conquest is explicitly rejected — “it would be like Crimea”: inefficient, destabilizing, and unnecessary.

Instead, the preferred method is far more effective:

→ Support pro-Chinese local elites
→ Bind them through loans, infrastructure, and economic dependency
→ Create a structure that is “nominally independent, but practically dependent on China.”

One sentence from the article says everything:

“Whose land is this? It’s just a name — the lifelines are in our hands.”

That is not commentary.
That is imperial strategy, expressed without slogans or sentiment.

For years, the Kremlin has promoted the narrative of a great Russia–China friendship, a strategic alliance against the West.

Yet while Russian propaganda speaks of brotherhood, Chinese media calmly discusses how to take nearly one-third of Russian territory when the political landscape changes.

No war.
No invasion.
No flags.

Just time, leverage, debt — and patience.

This article is not about tomorrow.
It is about what Beijing clearly considers inevitable: a weakened Russia, a hollowed-out state, and a moment of transition.

When that moment comes, the Far East will not be conquered.
It will already be owned.

Friendship is friendship.
But seven million square kilometers is a different matter.

And Beijing is already counting.

  1. Mark Levin :

“Carlson is a bigot. He’s unpatriotic, a serial liar, a conspiracy crackpot, an antisemite, and hellbent on undermining our country in service to various enemies. . .”

Far too polite, but absolutely correct.
Mark Levin is also the only maga to call out putler for what he is – a fascist.

    Mixed feelings here.
Anything that weakens putlerstan is welcome.
But the chicoms taking all that land …….
    That’s another serious concern.

  3. I abandoned Levin and Shapiro when they began to criticize Ukraine and seemingly joined MAGA. Glad to see some conservatives have come their senses

    • As far as I am aware, unless you know otherwise, Levin has always taken a firm anti-putler/pro-Ukraine line; the only one of that rotten crowd to do so.
Shapiro on the other hand WAS very snarky about Ukraine. But he had the decency to have a rethink. He shares the same religious background as Zel. The result of which was his decision to travel to Kyiv to interview Zel. It was a very good interview and can be seen on YouTube.

      • Levin always seemed to me to be one of the hard right Trump kissing MAGA. Thank you for correcting my impression.

  4. America took their stand today and stopped sanctions against some Russian defence companies and last week against Russian banks……………
