Italian home appliance manufacturer Ariston has announced its return to the Russian market.

This was reported by the company’s press service, reports the Russian edition of Forbes.

On the eve, Putin signed a decree canceling his decision of April 26, 2024, to transfer Ariston’s Russian assets to the temporary management of Gazprom Household Systems JSC.

“We are very pleased with the decision of the Russian authorities to restore Ariston Group as the owner and manager of our Russian subsidiary… We intend to resume operations with the Russian management in full compliance with existing sanctions,” said Ariston Group CEO Paolo Merloni.

Ariston Thermo Rus is registered in the Leningrad region, its beneficial owner is Merloni. The Russian company is engaged in the production of household electrical appliances and the sale of purchased household electrical and gas appliances.

According to the BBC, Ariston’s board of directors must now review the decision taken in August to deconsolidate the Russian unit and record the related losses.

Italy’s Foreign Ministry welcomed the news. “The Russian decision is the result of a lot of work carried out by the Foreign Ministry, the Italian Embassy in Moscow and the Italian authorities,” the ministry said.
