The American president explained why there is no point in talking with the ruler of the Kremlin now.

Currently, US President Joe Biden sees no point in negotiating with Putin . 

He said this while answering questions at a press conference in Washington, Voice of America reports . “I am not ready to talk to Putin because he is not ready to change his behavior,” Biden explained.

He noted that “Putin has a problem” – he cannot boast of military successes. “In this war, which he allegedly won… the Russian Federation used to have 17.3% of the captured territory of Ukraine, and now it is 17.4%.”

The American president noted that the Russian Federation had caused “terrible damage” to Ukraine, causing the death of people, and had itself lost more than 350,000 soldiers – killed or wounded. More than a million people, especially young people with technical skills, left the Russian Federation because they do not see a future in this country.

Therefore, the success that Putin is trying to convince the population is based on media control and disinformation.

“They have problems. But what they manage to do is to control the public reaction, the information that reaches people. They lie about what the world stands for to their voters about what is happening. Therefore, the idea that we will be able to fundamentally change Russia in the near future – unlikely,” Biden expressed his opinion.

He believes that Russia needs to be restrained for the sake of the security of the West, because it has imperialist plans far beyond the borders of Ukraine.

“One thing can be said for sure – if we allow the Russian Federation to succeed in Ukraine, they will not stop. I recommend that you read Putin’s speech after their invasion of Ukraine, what it was all about. Read what his goal is,” Biden emphasized.
