Norwegian Energy Minister Terje Asland said his country plans to keep natural gas production at the current high level.
In the seventh month of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Norway has become a leader in the supply of natural gas to Europe.
This is reported by Business Insider.
Norway’s energy minister, Terje Asland, said his country plans to keep natural gas production at current high levels as Europe grapples with a power generation crisis that could undermine its industry.
“I expect that we will be able to maintain the level of production that we have now until 2030,” Asland added.
Norway intends to increase natural gas production by 8% compared to 2021. And, accordingly, break the record five years ago.
Norway bypassed Russia against the background of the aggressor’s reduction in supplies to the EU countries.
Gazprom’s supply cuts have sent natural gas prices soaring in Europe, with benchmark TTF gas futures in the Netherlands jumping 220% since early June.

German leadership is finding out that not all gas comes from ruzzia. I guess better late than never.
