The installation was the “eyes” of the Russian Air Defense Forces, which controlled the airspace, the SBU noted.

In Zaporizhzhia, military counterintelligence officers of the SBU in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a rare Russian radar station “Kasta”, the cost of which starts at 60 million dollars.
As reported by the SBU, the soldiers of the Security Service, who work in the hot areas of the front in the Zaporizhzhia region, tracked and adjusted fire on the enemy’s 39N6 “Kasta-2E2” long-range detection radar.
“Its cost, depending on the equipment, starts at 60 million dollars. In fact, this radar station was the “eyes” of the Russian Air Defense Forces, which controlled our airspace. The enemy hid it in the rear, carefully camouflaged it and often redeployed it. But military counter-intelligence officers from the 13 Main Directorate of the SBU are hunting precisely for such rare targets. So this time they were able to track down the radar and fire at it to destroy it,” the special service said.
It is said that since the beginning of the full-scale war, various units of the Security Service have hit a total of 166 means of Russian air defense and 446 radio-electronic warfare, as well as radio-electronic and radio-technical intelligence on the front line.
