A significant amount of ammunition was stored in the warehouses of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Federation in the Tver region , which Ukraine attacked that night.

Serhiy Zgurets, director of the information and consulting company Defense Express, said on the air of the Espresso TV channel that this attack is a continuation of the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to destroy the reserves of the occupying army.

“This is the settlement of Toropets, where the warehouses of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Federation are located. This is a fairly large facility. If you look at the satellite images, then at least 60-70 warehouses were lined up behind the fence and were well maintained. That is, it is an important arsenal, where according to various estimates, up to 30,000 different types of ammunition were stored,” the expert said.Video of the day

He added that all warehouses were detonated, as FARMS satellite images show a significant number of explosions throughout the arsenal. According to Zgurets, previously, ammunition for the Grad system of 122 mm caliber, a significant number of mines of 82 mm caliber and small arms ammunition were stored there.

“I hope that there were also stockpiles of missiles for anti-aircraft missile systems of various types. Experts make such conclusions based on the appearance of detonations, which sometimes resemble fireworks. This is a really powerful blow to Russian stockpiles. The distance from the territory of Ukraine is approximately 500-600 kilometers. The strikes were carried out using our drones. These are systemic measures that affect the limitation of the enemy’s capabilities,” concluded the director of Defense Express.

Drone attack on the Russian Federation – destruction of warehouses in the Tver region

As UNIAN reported, on the night of September 18, drones attacked the city of Toropets, Tver region, Russia. Due to a significant fire and detonation, the local population was evacuated to a nearby town.

The NSDC stated that the Russians stored five types of different missiles at the affected warehouses .

“The Russians kept Grad, S-300 and S-400 missiles, as well as manufactured Iskander ballistic missiles and started stockpiling North Korean KN-23s,” said the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (a working body of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine) Andriy Kovalenko.

According to sources in the SBU, the warehouse stored missiles intended for operational-tactical missile complexes “Iskander” tactical missile complexes “Tochka-U”, self-propelled guns and artillery ammunition.
