In Lviv, cardiac surgeons saved a 22-year-old woman from Lviv who suffered a penetrating heart injury during a rocket attack on Lviv on September 4 . 

As “ZAXID.NET” writes  , on the morning of September 4, an “ambulance” took the injured girl to the hospital of St. bows She was in a state of shock, had a penetrating wound to the chest and felt unbearable pain in the area of ​​the heart.

“Medics discovered the fragment in it already during a CT examination. The patient was urgently installed a drain that pumped blood from the pleural cavity, because the fragment pierced the lung and the pericardium – the membrane that surrounds the heart, and was urgently transported to the Heart and Vascular Center of the St. Panteleimon Hospital , where she was immediately taken to the operating room,” the article says.

Head of the Center, Roman Domashich, noted that the patient’s condition was life-threatening.

“She was actually born in a shirt. I wonder how she got to us, because as soon as we took out the fragment from the heart, the affected area began to bleed profusely. This is a penetrating wound of the heart. Another millimeter and she would have died,” he said.

Cardiac surgeons performed a complex operation on a working heart. A fragment measuring 1×1.5 cm was stuck on the border of the left and right ventricles, in the thickness of the heart muscle. The operation lasted about 1.5 hours and was successful.

Now the life of the 22-year-old girl is not in danger and she has already been discharged home.
