The Berlin police banned speeches in Ukrainian, allowing speeches only in German and English.

On Monday evening, about 900 people gathered on the Unter den Linden boulevard in central Berlin opposite the Russian embassy. They spoke against the massive missile attack by the Russian Armed Forces on Ukrainian cities, in particular on the “Okhmatdyt” children’s hospital in Kyiv.

People brought flowers, photos, flags of Ukraine, anti-war posters. The slogan “Glory to Ukraine!” rang out. The action was organized by the movement of Ukrainians in Germany “Vitsche eV”, writes BILD.

However, the Berlin police banned speeches in Ukrainian, allowing speeches only in German and English. There is no such law in Germany, but recently law enforcement officers can be required to either hire an interpreter or speak in a language they understand. In April 2023, radical Muslim rallies in Berlin called for the destruction of Israel in Arabic, but the police did not understand it. This time, according to the law enforcement officers, Viche agreed to the action on Monday afternoon, but did not find a translator from Ukrainian until the evening. Activists themselves do not agree with this.

“This is not true. We were asked about it, but there was no final agreement. Many Ukrainians do not yet speak German very well. Language is part of our identity. And unfortunately, in front of the Russian Embassy, many of us were condemned to silence.” – said the representative of Vitsche eV

Hit on “Okhmatdyt” – details

On July 8, the Russian occupying forces launched a missile attack on Kyiv. Children’s hospital “Okhmatdyt” came under enemy fire. The head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, wrote that “the Russians purposefully beat the children today.” As a result of the attack, two people died and several dozen were injured, including children.

According to the preliminary data of the investigators, the occupiers used the Kh-101 strategic cruise missile to destroy the medical facility . At the same time, experts have no doubt that the Russian Federation targeted a hospital with children suffering from serious illnesses.

  1. So the Berlin police were afraid the Ukrainians were going to call for the destruction of Russia? Were they afraid the Russian embassy would send over their Titushki?
