Important and serious conversation: Zaluzhny hinted at resignation after meeting with Zelensky

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny said that he met with Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Zelensky and an “important and serious conversation” took place between them.

It was decided that it was necessary to change approaches and strategies.

In the first most difficult days of the Great War, we withstood a vile and strong enemy. We stood together. Our battle continues and changes every day. The 2022 goals are different from the 2024 goals. Therefore, everyone must change and adapt to new realities. Win a victory together too.

I am grateful to everyone who is nearby. The team of the General Staff, the Ministry of Defense, the President of Ukraine.

I am proud of each and everyone in the Armed Forces of Ukraine who protect the future of our children. All soldiers, sergeants and officers. I bow my head to everyone who gave their lives for Ukraine and freedom. We remember and will take revenge for everyone. The Ukrainians will definitely win.

  1. Even if the occupied territories would be lost forever, the survival of the Ukrainian state as Nato member has the highest value. RuSSia will pay for all the horror anyway once Putler’s mafia has been overthrown by ruSSians themselves.

    • Sadly, much truth to that, Mike. The blame for that depressing outlook has to go to the major Nato governments, which apparently don’t want Putin to lose. It increasingly looks like they have worked for a stalemate all the way.

  2. We all only have limited insights into what goes on in Ukraine behind closed doors, of course, but from what I conclude from the reports is that it’s rather Zelensky who should resign. Because his stance of pushing for a liberation of occupied territories, at the same time as being reluctant to decide on the urgently necessary reinforcements, makes zero sense now. You can’t kick the RuSSians out without sufficient manpower. Seems to me the president is burned out, is mentally living in Cloud-Cuckoo-Land now, where wishful thinking overwhelms sound reasoning and hard facts. That’s much more of a problem than the comparatively minor mistakes of Zaluzhny (there’s no perfect military leadership in war anyway). Someone needs to tell him that he’s losing the grip on reality. Olena to the rescue!
