One of Russia’s most effective bits of crackpot propaganda is highlighting the massive discrepancy in numbers during body exchanges conducted with Ukraine.
It’s effective because on the face of it, it looks so obviously true.
But it’s wrong, and here’s why.

I would say that most bodies are left to rot in the fields. Dead soldiers means the state paying out to the families. No bodies, no money.
