President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sharply criticized Russia’s absurd proposal to cease fire for two or three days on certain sections of the front to exchange the bodies of the killed. After all, such exchanges already happen from time to time, and delegations do not need to fly to another country and conduct alleged “negotiations.”
In fact, Russia is simply delaying the process. “Well, in principle, they don’t see a ceasefire as such. They said they were ready for a ceasefire for two or three days to collect the dead from the battlefield. I think they are idiots. Because a ceasefire is to ensure that there are no deaths,” the head of state said during a conversation with journalists on June 2.
He pointed out that the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, and other members of the delegation do not understand what is being discussed.
“Comrade Medinsky – as I said from the beginning – these are not the same level of people. They don’t even understand technical matters. Unfortunately, soldiers on the battlefield very often exchange the bodies of their killed armies. This happens. And everyone understands that at the moment of exchange, no one is shooting at each other,” Zelensky emphasized.
The enemy’s proposal to cease fire for just a few days is just a ” rhetorical game .”
“That’s why we want our American partners to take strong steps to send the sanctions package to the Senate, to pressure the Russians into a ceasefire with strong sanctions. They still don’t understand otherwise. We believe this is fair. It’s been five months since the US gave the signal for a ceasefire. And we support this,” the president said.
He added that the aggressor country agrees to prisoner exchanges because it “feeds” the United States so that the Americans will prolong their decision to impose sanctions.
“Therefore, it is important for us to emphasize that if this time Istanbul does not move forward with the ceasefire, then there should be sanction steps from the United States,” Zelensky said.
As OBOZ.UA wrote:
– On June 2 , the second round of talks between Ukraine and Russia took place in Turkey . Moscow refused the unconditional ceasefire proposed by Kyiv, as well as a meeting between the leaders of the two countries.
– The parties exchanged documents on the settlement, with the terms of a ceasefire and the end of the war. It was possible to agree on the exchange of prisoners of war “all for all” of the seriously wounded, sick and young soldiers under the age of 25. Ukraine and the Russian Federation will also give each other the bodies of 6,000 dead soldiers from each side.
– The Russians were given a list of several hundred Ukrainian children deported by the occupiers from the TOT.

Only a half-wit would see that mafia land wanted a ceasefire. It’s way past the time to turn the screws on the putler regime, no more feeble 2 week reprieves.
