US President Donald Trump does not want to deal with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, because he allegedly does not want to negotiate with the Kremlin.
The White House chief made this statement in an interview with Newsmax. Trump shared his opinion that Zelenskyy is allegedly “not the kind of person to deal with.” He added that a peace agreement with Russia, if reached, would be without Zelenskyy.
“He doesn’t want to negotiate. He says he wants to negotiate, but he doesn’t. No, I’m not a big fan of Zelensky,” Trump said.
The American president also expressed the opinion that the root cause of the war was the presidency of Barack Obama, under whom Ukraine was “forced to give up Crimea.”
Trump called the temporarily occupied peninsula “the most beautiful piece of land,” surrounded by ocean on all sides:
“Crimea is, without a doubt, the most valuable part of Ukraine. It’s surrounded by ocean on all four sides. It’s the most beautiful piece of land. I’m a developer. I know… I definitely know good land.”
