Trump stated that for now, “we need ammunition ourselves.”

The United States has halted sales of ammunition to its allies and will only allow them to be purchased after replenishing its own stockpiles. US President Donald Trump announced this in an interview with Newsmax.
He accused former President Joe Biden of transferring large quantities of Patriot and Tomahawk missiles and other weapons to Ukraine, which he said were not paid for.
Trump also recalled that he demanded that European countries pay for weapons supplied to Kyiv. However, he said the US has now stopped deliveries because “we need them ourselves.”
“They paid us, and we sent them weapons. But lately, we’ve just been keeping the ammunition for ourselves because we need it ourselves. And when we replenish it, really replenish it, we’ll start allowing our allies to buy it from us,” Trump added.
As a reminder, media outlets reported that Ukraine had virtually no Patriot missiles left . As one official told WP, as of October 7, only 10 missiles remained; they were expended during the attacks. Only a couple remain.
