When NATO leaders convened last week in Ankara, Turkey, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky again pressed them to cement their support for Kyiv. But this time, he could argue that Ukraine’s ability to produce and launch long-range drones has brought the war home to Russians, a strain that even President Vladimir Putin has recently acknowledged.
Can battlefield momentum translate into movement in the peace talks? How much does Kyiv still need Washington? Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s foreign minister from 2020 to 2024 and a senior fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center, joined FP’s Ravi Agrawal to assess where the war goes from here.

I once thought Mr Kuleba had the potential for greatness. A tough intellectual who could be a bit brusque, he rubbed the Poles up the wrong way and it cost him his job.
Unfortunately.
This is a dark, but realistic approach that he has taken.

I think he’s being realistic. Unless we can make life in Russia completely unbearable, Putin will survive and wait.

America can best mark the sad and untimely passing of Senator Lindsey Graham by sanctioning Russia and rededicating to the victory of Ukraine. Senator Graham just yesterday spoke in Ukraine about working to end Putin’s brutal war which is filled with civilian atrocities and lies. Let’s honor Senator Graham’s fierce support for Ukraine against Putin and his war crimes.

This compromised bill leaves all of the decision to Trump, unlike the previous version where there was no wiggle room for Trump. I’m prepared to take a wager from anyone who believes Trump will actually enforce this new bill. I also have a bridge in Brooklyn I can sell you.
