BREAKING NEWS: Fires reported near Russian air defense system in Kerch

In the temporarily occupied Crimea, fires have been reported near a Russian air defense system in Kerch.

According to Ukrinform, the monitoring group of the Crimean Wind Telegram channel reported this, citing satellite imagery.

“Fires have been detected at the Russian air defense deployment site in Kerch. Thermal radiation was detected near Cape Fonar on the Kerch Peninsula. This is the location of the Pantsir-S1 air defense system, which provides cover for the Crimea Port and the Kerch Bridge from the north,” the post states.

It is noted that on the night of July 13, shooting and numerous explosions were heard in Kerch.

In addition, two fires broke out on the highway from the Crimean side of the Chonhar Bridge. “It is likely that more fuel tankers and trucks are on fire,” the monitoring group notes.

In Sevastopol that night, there was likely a strike in the area of the railway bridge over Fiolent Highway. This railway branch leads to the port in Komyshova Bay.

According to the Telegram channel, a fire at sea was reported in the Heroivske district of Kerch—an unidentified vessel is on fire.

“Thermal radiation appeared in the Kerch Strait overnight, when our subscribers in the city heard gunfire and explosions. Drones were also spotted flying over the strait,” the post states.

As previously reported, Ukrainian drones struck more than 360 Russian fuel tankers and trucks en route to Crimea over the course of a week.
