The Russian invaders suffered new losses.

On August 9, special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine conducted a raid on the Kinburn Spit . They managed to destroy dozens of Russian occupiers and their equipment.

The GUR Telegram channel reported that the landing operation was carried out by the units “Khimera”, “Stugna”, “Paragon”, “Siberian Battalion” and “Terror” as part of the special forces unit “Timur”. It was carried out in cooperation with the Navy and other components of the Security and Defense Forces.

Ukrainian fighters destroyed six units of armored vehicles of the Russian Federation and about three dozen invaders. Special forces attacked Russian fortifications at their positions “Kinburn Fortress”, “Sea Terminal” and “Suvorov Monument”. Near the latter, the soldiers installed the battle flag of the Military Intelligence.

Occupation of the Kinburn Spit

The Kinburn Spit is located in the Nikolaev region, it partially separates the Black Sea from the Dnieper-Bug estuary.

Russian invading forces captured it at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It remains the only occupied part of the Mykolaiv region.
