Germany has officially accused Russian military intelligence of an attempted attack on a Ukrainian Antonov cargo aircraft at Leipzig Airport. German officials say explosives were planted aboard the aircraft, the detonator malfunctioned, and DNA evidence links the operation to Russia.
The EU and NATO are standing firmly behind Germany as European leaders warn that Russia’s hybrid operations are designed to intimidate Ukraine’s supporters and fracture Western unity.
