The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the crash of an American F-16 fighter in Ukraine . This was reported in their Telegram.

It is noted that F-16 fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were used together with units of anti-aircraft missile forces to repel a missile attack from the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine.

“During the air battle, the F-16 aircraft demonstrated their high efficiency, with their onboard weapons shooting down four enemy cruise missiles. During the approach to the next target, contact was lost with one of the aircraft. As it turned out later, the aircraft crashed, the pilot died,” the statement said.

The General Staff also emphasized that a special commission of the Ministry of Defense, working in the area where the plane crashed, was assigned to determine the causes of the accident.
