Energy Minister of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko said that Ukraine will be involved in the process of certification of the Russian Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.

He stated this during a briefing on January 20.

According to the minister, this will happen when the European Commission considers the issue of gas pipeline certification.

“It was decided that Ukraine will be invited to certify Nord Stream 2 when this issue reaches the European Commission. This is the official position that we heard today, for which I am grateful to our partners,” Galushchenko said.

Recall that today the Federal Foreign Minister of Germany, Annalena Berbock, announced her readiness to consider measures against Nord Stream 2 in the event of Russian aggression against Ukraine.

On July 22, 2021, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine released a joint U.S.-German statement of support for Ukraine, European energy security, and shared climate goals. According to the agreements, the United States and Germany promise  to prevent Russia from using energy resources as a weapon against Ukraine.

Help UNIAN. The Nord Stream 2 project provides for the  construction and operation of two gas pipelines  with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Russian coast through the Baltic Sea to Germany.

The pipeline operator is Nord Stream 2 AG, 100% owned by Gazprom.

On September 10, 2021, Russia announced the completion of the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

To launch Nord Stream 2, it needs to be certified by German authorities. This procedure was started, but  on November 16 it was suspended.  After certification by the German authorities, the European Commission must give permission to operate. Without the approval of the EC, the gas pipeline cannot be launched.

  1. Nordstream 2 must never be approved as long as RuSSia has 200k troops next to Ukraine’s border. And should be canceled if Ukraine is invaded (again).

    • Besides that, as I understand it, Nord Stream 2 operator cannot be the same entity as the owner of the gas. Gazprom will have to chose which they want, the pipeline or the gas. It looks like they are going to try to break those laws too. You know how Rushans think they don’t have to follow other’s laws…

      • Fortunately, mafia land must follow European rules. Unfortunately, Germanystan also like to break laws, so it’s the same.

  2. “According to the agreements, the United States and Germany promise to prevent Russia from using energy resources as a weapon against Ukraine.”
At this point and time, I trust neither the US (Yellow House) and especially Germanystan to keep their promise. Alas, mafia land already has used gas as a weapon against Ukraine and even against Europe and only the proverbial crickets sanf their songs.
