Authorities in four more Russian regions, Yakutia, Bashkortostan, Primorsky Krai, and Krasnodar Krai, have announced gasoline and diesel rationing, independent newspaper The Moscow Times reported on June 29.

Yakutia’s regional government said the largest local fuel supplier, Sakhaneftgazsbyt, has limited refueling to 30 liters of gasoline or 200 liters of diesel per vehicle and has banned sales into any containers. The republic’s civil defense minister said the measures will remain in place until “the situation stabilizes.”

Bashkortostan has set a 30-liter limit per vehicle and banned sales into jerrycans. Authorities said the limits will not apply to state organizations.

In Primorsky Krai, limits target heavy trucks: within cities drivers may fill up to 100 liters per tank and on highways up to 200 liters. Sales into jerrycans are banned. Vladimir Malyushitsky, deputy head of the regional government, said the measures were aimed at “unscrupulous buyers” who are filling trucks and that the limits will be lifted once the panic subsides.

In the Slavyansky district of Krasnodar Krai, the seven operating gas stations are selling fuel only into vehicle tanks, no more than 20 liters of gasoline or 60 liters of diesel per vehicle, and four stations accept payment only through rationing cards.

Russian propaganda outlet RBC reported that as of June 29 official restrictions on fuel sales had been imposed in more than 40 Russian regions and in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. Complaints about supply disruptions have come from 85 regions, RBC said.
