May 14 (Reuters) – Freight train cars derailed and a storage tank containing diesel fuel caught fire in the southern Russian region of Volgograd due to “outside interference,” Russian officials said on Tuesday.
“As a result of interference by unauthorised persons into the operation of railway transport, cars of a freight train derailed at the Kotluban station,” Russian Railways said in a statement on its website.
“According to preliminary information, there were no injuries. At this time, train traffic in the area of the Kotluban station is suspended.”
The storage tank and cars with lumber caught fire and the blaze was extinguished, Russia’s RIA state news agency reported, citing the emergency ministry.
Reuters could not independently verify the reports and it was not immediately clear whether the incident was related to Russia’s war in Ukraine, opens new tab.
Kyiv has said in the past it carried out sabotage attacks on Russia’s railway system to disrupt military logistics, including far from the front lines in the nearly 27-month-old war.

Many more attacks on mafia logistics must be carried out to cripple the roach army’s efforts in Ukraine. Mr. Blinken “Ukraine needs no F-16s” is currently in Ukraine. Maybe he has something in his baggage that could help with this.

At first glance, the object of the attack itself (i.e. the railway echelon) may not look too impressive, there is no military equipment there, only fuel tanks and cars filled with scrap metal and wood. But the real significance lies in the details.
To begin with, the Kotluban railway station is located at the exit pathway from an important arsenal of the russian defense ministry’s Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU), military unit 57229/51. Accordingly, the military significance of the strike is that it at least complicated the transfer of ammunition from this arsenal for a certain amount of time. Worth noting, drone strikes in this area have been systematic for a while now. Open source data indicates there were at least three other attacks targeting the arsenal near Kotluban on November 16th and 24th, 2023, and also on March 8th, 2024.

Thanks for the details, Mr. Slimpan. That sounds quite interesting. As usual, the AFU knows what it’s doing and it’s doing it quite well. Just imagine what Ukraine could accomplish with the appropriate weapons from the West AND permission to use them in mafia land. This chapter of the war is so sickening, I could vomit for days.
