At the press conference, he added that an agreement on financing had been reached between France, Ukraine and Denmark, which would allow the country to “quickly deliver” howitzers to the Ukrainian side. France will also increase supplies of shells to meet Kyiv’s urgent needs for ammunition to fight a full-scale Russian invasion, he said.

It is noted that Paris has set a goal to transfer 80 thousand shells for 155 mm guns to Ukraine in 2024. Since the start of a full-scale war on February 24, 2024, 30 thousand shells have been delivered.

In addition, Lecornu noted that France is participating in the search for existing stocks of gunpowder and ammunition that could be purchased in countries outside the European Union as part of the Czech initiative.
