“Four cars were full of money.” The Russian embassy told about the flight of the Afghan president from Kabul

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, who fled the country on August 15, took with him a large amount of money in cash. RIA Novosti was told about this by the press secretary of the Russian Embassy in Kabul, Nikita Ishchenko.

As for the collapse of the regime, it is most eloquently characterized by how Ghani escaped from Afghanistan: four cars were filled with money, they tried to shove another part of the money into a helicopter, but not everything fit. And some of the money was left lying on the take-off field.

Ashraf Ghani, who has led Afghanistan since 2014, flew out of Kabul on August 15, when Taliban militants seized the capital and de facto the entire territory of the state without a fight. Where he is now is not known for certain. There were reports that Ghani flew to Tajikistan, Uzbekistan or Oman. The president wrote on his Facebook that he left the country in order to prevent bloodshed.
