Former British Defence Minister: West Should Send Troops To Ukraine

Macron is right.

May 2, 2024

The West should send its troops to Ukraine, which can be deployed in the western regions of the country, said former British Defence Minister, MP James Heappey.

On the air of Channel 4, he supported the idea of French President Emmanuel Macron to send Western troops to Ukraine.

At the same time, he noted that the Allied forces could deploy on the territory of the western regions of Ukraine, and sending thousands of tanks, hundreds of fighters and thousands of artillery systems would not be enough to help the Ukrainian army to win.

“To Western Ukraine to conduct training. Macron was right when he put forward this idea,” the British politician said.

He drew attention to the fact that the idea of rotating Ukrainian brigades from the front line and transferring them to Germany or Poland for training is unrealistic.

“I don’t think Ukrainian generals can afford to keep them out of the front line for that long. So I think the next big step forward is not the capability in the form of a weapon system or anything, the next big step is the arrival of the military in Western Ukraine to do this combined training,” Heappey said.

  1. The moderator of this discussion round has said what we know all too well.
“What is Britain’s (and the rest of the West–OFP) game plan strategy when it comes to Ukraine, because we’ve been in this now since 2022? We’ve got a lot of rhetorical support for Ukraine, some material support, but it seems to me that we give Ukraine enough to survive but not enough to win.”

This pathetic strategy has got to stop! The pussyfooting around with mafia land has gone on for long enough. The West must go on a proper war footing, instead.
Sending in Western troops would be a good start, if for nothing else than to secure areas along the Belarusian and Transnistria borders that would allow Ukrainian troops there to join combat operations.

  2. Shoulda coulda woulda… Furst from France, now the UK. Actions speak louder than words! Lead by example! 🤨
