The counter-offensive showed that the Ukrainians are “creatively” integrating the military potential provided by the Western countries.

The Pentagon said the Ukrainian counteroffensive near Kherson was showing “encouraging” signs. This is the first time US officials have used the term “counteroffensive.”

This was stated by US Deputy Secretary of Defense for Political Affairs Sasha Baker, quotes CNN .

The counter-offensive, she said, showed that the Ukrainians are “creatively” integrating military capabilities provided by Western countries into their operations.

“We are following the counter-offensive very closely, as you can imagine… We have seen some encouraging signs, especially in recent days. But again, the Russians are a formidable opponent and I think there is still a long battle ahead,” she replied. Baker.

In turn, the journalists noted that this is the first time the Pentagon has called the Ukrainian operation a “counteroffensive.” Previously, this term was avoided.
