Zhdanov noted that today the rate of advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is much higher than the rate of advance shown by the Russian Federation.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting successful counter-offensives in the Kharkiv direction . Thanks to the confident and well-coordinated actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of the local population, our troops advanced almost 50 km in three days.

Military expert Oleg Zhdanov spoke about this on  YouTube , analyzing the situation at the front.

“The day of the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkov direction can be considered the beginning of a turning point and the transition of the war to the third stage – the stage of counter-offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It will not be as fast as we want, gradually. But the fact itself: we have already begun to resolve issues of defeating the Russian troops and liberation of our territory. Before that, we had a stage of positional warfare: we spent the whole summer at this stage, we even retreated a little,” he said.

Zhdanov noted that today the rate of advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is much higher than the rate of advance shown by the Russian Federation, especially at the second stage of the war, namely the positional war – throughout the summer.

“Let me remind you that in 35 days in the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops advanced 10 km (this was in July, according to the American Institute for the Study of War). We covered 50 km in three days. The bridgehead is expanding. We have almost reached it – there is a photo, but no official confirmation from the General Staff – to the city of Kupyansk and our troops are on the bypass road. Today  , the ISW expressed the opinion that the Armed Forces of Ukraine can liberate Kupyansk by the end of the week or in the next 72 hours. Now the city is under full fire control of the Ukrainian troops, “- says the expert.

According to him, this may indicate that the grouping of Russian troops in the Izyum region – it is estimated at about 10,000 servicemen – can be considered in the operational encirclement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“But the Russian command is pulling up reserves. Now there is information that from all sides, everything that can be pulled up is being pulled to the Slobozhanskoye direction in the Kupyansk region in order to stop or at least somehow even out the situation with the advancement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” warns Zhdanov.
