A fire has broken out near ammunition depots at Hvardiiske Air Base in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The Crimean Wind project reported the fire, citing data from the FIRMS fire monitoring service and eyewitness accounts.
Fire hotspots were also reportedly detected in the area where aircraft are stationed.
Earlier, at about 4:30 p.m., local residents reported at least one drone flying overhead, cannon fire and an explosion in the direction of the air base.
No other information about the fire at the captured airfield is currently available.

Previous Attacks on Hvardiiske
Earlier, on August 10, it was reported that satellite imagery confirmed damage to hangars, a fuel and lubricants depot and the runway following a Ukrainian Defense Forces strike on Hvardiiske Air Base on August 7.
Satellite data recorded strikes on two aircraft hangars that Russian forces used to store and prepare Shahed/Geran and Gerbera strike drones.

That’s good. Destroying the enemy’s ammo depots is never a bad thing, but better things to destroy are their planes and crews.
