Fedorov: “Corruption is one of the main reasons why it is harder for us to stop the war”

Former Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov called corruption  one of the main internal obstacles preventing a quick end to the war.

He said this in a podcast with volunteer and blogger Serhiy Sternenko, Censor.NET reports.

A call to fight corruption

According to the former government official, systemic abuses affect the quality of government decisions, including personnel decisions, when effective and professional people are left out of the processes.

“Corruption is one of the main reasons why it is harder for us to stop the war. We must overcome it (corruption, – ed.) , and it will be easier for us to stop the war… This then affects personnel decisions – that effective people are not needed in various positions, and we are not talking about the Ministry of Defense now, but in general. And in fact, this needle, let’s say, lies in the defense industry, and in Ukroboronprom, and in areas related to procurement. I am sure that there will be a result – I have already said this repeatedly – that people will be punished, and the task of law enforcement officers now is to do everything for this and continue to do so. Because this is a constant process. Because no matter what system you create, people come who try to hack it from the outside. Not even from the inside, but from the outside,” Fedorov said. Джерело: https://censor.net/ua/n4017435
