He suggested that naval saboteurs might be involved.
Russian occupiers used the tanker “Koala” to sell oil products to other countries in circumvention of sanctions.
This opinion was expressed on air by ” Radio NV ” by retired captain 1st rank, former deputy chief of staff of the Ukrainian Navy Andrey Ryzhenko.

“I would like to remind you that the tankers of the “shadow fleet” contributed a third of all revenues to the Russian budget. This vessel was loaded with about 100 tons of fuel oil, was supposed to transport it, and such an explosion occurred. The vessel sank at the pier and a spill of this oil is possible,” said Ryzhenko.
The captain stressed that the release of fuel oil into the Baltic Sea could lead to a serious catastrophe – much worse than what happened in the Black Sea.
“There were 4 to 8 tons of this fuel oil in the Black Sea. And the Black Sea is much deeper. And the Baltic Sea is relatively shallow. If this fuel oil spills into the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea, it will be a serious catastrophe for Russia and for Estonia, Finland and other countries,” Ryzhenko explained.
He noted that this situation arose after Russian ships began damaging communication cables in the Baltic Sea.
“The very nature of the damage suggests that they may not have wanted a fuel oil spill, but damage to this ship. By its nature, this could be the use of sea saboteurs. There are now devices that allow them to move underwater over significant distances. Therefore, I do not rule out that there could have been some kind of measure that led to such a release,” Ryzhenko suggested.
Tanker “Koala”: what is known
On the night of February 9, three powerful explosions thundered in the engine room of the tanker “Koala”. There were 130 thousand tons of fuel oil on board the vessel. Russian authorities assured that no fuel oil leaks were recorded.
At the same time, the Russian Federation stated that during this, there were boats on the water in the port of Ust-Luga that fired at “some objects.” Because of this, Russia claims that there was an external impact on the tanker – an attack by water drones.
UNIAN reported earlier that Russians are outraged by the tanker accident . Because their authorities failed to prevent harmful leaks of oil products due to the accident of the Russian tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 in the Kerch Strait.

Strange, very strange.
The West are waiting for a huge oil spill to destroy the eco system of the Baltics before they act. It’s long past the time to totally blockade the Baltic sea to the terrorist state.
The West has been discussing with each other over what to do about the mafia ghost fleet. They will discuss how to clean up the gigantic ruskie mess, too, when it happens. Blowing hot air always works best for those too dumb and scared to face reality.
