‘Everywhere is full of dead Russians’ — CNN reporter stunned after his trip to the frontlines

The number of Russian casualties is shocking, CNN International’s senior military correspondent, Frederik Pleitgen, noted about his last visit to the front, Bild reported.

“Everywhere is full of dead Russians, body parts, car parts,” he said.

“Nothing is being cleaned,” he said.

Ukraine “suffers, and this, of course, is true,” Pleitgen said.

“But how many of his own people Putin sends to death — I could not even imagine it would be as bad as it is now. This is one reason why Ukrainians still have the fighting spirit, because they understand that they are actually stopping a lot of them.”

Ukrainian soldiers will be able to stand strong even without an aid package from the United States, he told the German magazine.

“They’re going to rely on a new strategy, these little drones,” Pleitgen said.

“The Ukrainians are currently creating a long-range aircraft consisting of drones to attack supply routes.”

The journalist also met the Ukrainian unit of drone operators who attacked Russian positions.

“They could see everything, they were literally looking into the faces of [Russian] soldiers who knew it was probably going to be over for them soon,” he said.

  1. “But how many of his own people Putin sends to death — I could not even imagine it would be as bad as it is now. This is one reason why Ukrainians still have the fighting spirit, because they understand that they are actually stopping a lot of them.”

I hope Ukraine learn from Bakhmut, and destroy as many orcs as possible, then retreat to the new set of defence lines outside of Bakhmut. I don’t see the point of fighting over rubble, Ukraine’s big advantage comes when the orcs have to cross open terrain.

  2. This Pleitgen guy is a borderline putinaZi sympathizer. He fails to understand that invaders ARE murderers. The victims are resisting these degenerate psychopaths the only way they can; by killing them.
Marmalize 3000 orc savages each and every day and their invasion will be untenable.

    • Well, I don’t think that Pleitgen is worse than Biden’s advicer Jake Sullivan. He may be thinking that Russia still is a superpower that needs to be appeased, but seeing with his own eyes what a murderous, cynical regime this really is apparently has left an impact. Fred is the son of renowned late journalist Fritz Pleitgen and this makes it unlikely that he’s a fan of totalitarian dictators. Good that he witnessed the blood toll of Putin’s war.

      • “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.”
        Elie Wiesel

War correspondents like the late unlamented tankie and putler-rimmer; John Pilger, always took sides. Unfortunately with anyone who hates America, Jews, Israel, the UK and the west in general.
But professional journalists when reporting on the putler holocaust; the clearest imaginable case of good vs evil, try to present themselves as even-handed, they just make themselves look like fucking arseholes.

“Ukraine suffers, and this, of course, is true,” Pleitgen said.”

That makes it look like a grudging acceptance of fact, rather than sympathy.

“But how many of his own people Putin sends to death — I could not even imagine it would be as bad as it is now.”

Who the fuck should care? Dirty, filthy murderers and rapists getting killed in numbers is a cause for celebration, not concern.

    • Damn, it’s official:
“Alexei Navalny dies in jail, Russian prison service says”

That’s very sad news. I bow my head to this brave dissident, who had put his life at stake to protest the inhumane regime. I had hoped for a good outcome for him, but apparently Putin saw him as too dangerous an opponent, even in prison. His memory will last. RIP.
      🙁

        • Yeah, I wondered what he was thinking, too. Did he believe there would be a rebellion and he would emerge as a hero of resistance, like Mandela? Huge misjudgment of the generally phlegmatic Russian character, then. It’s tragic.

        • RuSSians are stupid. Take Prigoshyn, he had Putler at gunpoint and then called the rebellion off. Maybe ruSSians have microchips inside their brains turning them into slaves? 🤔

          • Brian Whitmore claims that putler’s goons threatened his kids. More fool him for putting them in harm’s way.

  3. Look at the bright side, Fred. Less ruskies is good for the planet. Ukrainian stray dogs and cats, rats, mice, and crows certainly don’t mind all the dead roaches. They have a feast every day.

    • Interesting fact. Avdiivka is the 130th largest town by population. The orcs lost 400 vehicles according to UK intelligence, and 1000s of orcs. This is not sustainable, especially if Ukraine get more weapons.

      • Of course, this sort of victory is not worth having, although the sick-minded potato generals think otherwise. I agree … once certain weapons arrive for Ukraine, they will learn to run again.
