Ukraine’s Western allies made a big mistake during Russia’s full-scale invasion. They were frightened by the Kremlin’s nuclear threats and sharply reduced their support for Ukraine in the fall of 2022.
At that time, the Ukrainian army was conducting its first and successful counteroffensive, but the reduction in aid did not allow it to build on the success. This opinion was expressed by former Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis in an interview with Voice of America.
The politician recalled the moment of a sharp decline in support for Ukraine from Western allies when assessing the main successes and failures of US President Joe Biden. He believes that Washington “succumbed to Russia’s nuclear blackmail” – and this was the main “mistake” on the part of the US.
“And this was a very specific moment when we can say that everything went in a very bad direction then. This happened in the fall of … 2022, when Ukraine succeeded in its first counteroffensive,” Landsbergis noted.
At that time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces de-occupied most of the Kharkiv region and liberated Kherson. And this, the politician believes, demonstrated to the whole world the strength of Ukraine and the weakness of Russia.
“And then Putin pulled out his card and said he would use nuclear weapons if his army was on the verge of collapse. And then the leaders of the West literally threw their hands up in the air and said, ‘We can’t do anything to oppose this.’ And you could feel as if someone had ‘turned down the volume’ on helping Ukraine. And now we are in this doctrine. We are still in this doctrine,” Landsbergis stated.
Recall, earlier, Atlantic Council analyst John Herbst said that providing modern weapons to Ukraine would bring lasting peace and a Nobel Prize to Trump . This move is one of the points of the “eight big ideas for President Trump”, formulated by analysts.
I think there is not a person around with at least average ability to think for him or herself, who doesn’t know that it was fear which prevented a quick end to this war. FEAR is NEVER a good companion in such trying times. FEAR prevents things from being done that should be done. It cripples the mind and the soul.
Even in Britain’s darkest hours alone under Nazi bombs and threat from invasion at any moment, did Churchill succumb to fear. This is an important lesson that our spineless leaders have forgotten. Also forgotten was the fact that mafia land’s most important ally, china, has stated numerous times not to use nukes.
So, here we are about three years later, fearing the return of the orange colored urine drinker and complete nutcase into the WH, instead of living in peace.
The rat nazi played the nuke card in 2014; it worked. Response was feeble beyond imagination. The tiny cocksucker played it again in 2022; worked like a charm. Again.

All it needed was Biden to say to putler, if you want to use nukes, go right ahead, but hell will be unleashed if you do. Instead we get a shameful act of appeasement from the strongest military that ever existed.
