Europe has no intention of lifting sanctions on Russia until the negotiations are completed.

Europe is categorically opposed to some points of the “peace plan” proposed by the United States regarding the war in Ukraine , Reuters writes , citing its sources.
In particular, it is noted that one of the points is the recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia – a step that is impossible for Europe and Ukraine.
In addition, Europe is “strongly opposed” to lifting sanctions on Russia before the negotiations are completed, European diplomats said.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said last week that European powers had detailed to the United States their views on non-negotiable aspects of a potential peace deal between Ukraine and Russia, but he was skeptical about the chances of reaching an agreement this week.
Reuters also notes that some of Washington’s ideas are also likely to be unpopular with Moscow.
“Two diplomats said the United States is not pushing Russia’s demand for the demilitarization of Ukraine and is not opposing European forces as part of future security guarantees for Ukraine,” the article states.
The publication also reminds that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio canceled his trip to London, and the meeting, which was also to include the foreign ministers of Great Britain, Ukraine, France, and Germany, was postponed.
At the same time, according to one European diplomat, Rubio is concerned that Ukraine may return to its previous tough positions, which would make any breakthrough in the negotiations impossible.
Trump’s “peace plan”
As the media reported, Trump’s proposed peace plan involves recognizing Russian control in Crimea, as well as “de facto recognition” of Russia’s occupation of almost all of the Ukrainian territories seized by Russia, as well as lifting sanctions against Russia.
At the same time, Ukraine is provided with the return of only a small part of the Kharkiv region and a “reliable security guarantee” without clearly defined details.
At the same time, the WSJ stated that Europe is ready to recognize Russia’s control over Crimea and some occupied territories of Ukraine in exchange for security guarantees and economic support.

The Trump gang knew all about the Ukrainian red lines before any talks, so by including the recognition of Crimea, they set these talks up to fail before they even started.
I fear it will get nasty for Ukraine. Islamo-ruSSian Crimea should stay with ruSSia. But globalists like Zelensky ignore the danger, he instead embraces the chaos which Europe and ruSSia are already suffering from.
