Ahead of proposed Ukraine-Russia peace talks in Istanbul, Victoria Derbyshire hears exclusively from EU Commission vice-president Kaja Kallas on support for Ukraine and a defence and security pact between the UK and the EU. The EU policy chief is also challenged on whether the continued use of Russian gas is enabling President Putin to “continue his war”.
Kaja:
“We haven’t yet put strong sanctions on oil and gas.”
Victoria :
“Why?”
Kaja :
“Because we haven’t had an agreement on that.”
