Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the gas price with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The Turkish politician demanded a discount on “blue fuel”.

As a result of the meeting, Erdogan announced the expansion of the Mir card acceptance network in Turkey and confirmed plans to increase the mutual trade turnover to $200 billion a year.
In turn, Russia provided Turkey with a $5 billion loan for the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, which is being carried out by Rosatom.
It is worth noting that after cutting off gas to European countries, Turkey became Gazprom’s largest client, although it reduced purchases – 13 billion cubic meters were pumped in January-June against 14.6 billion cubic meters in the same period last year.
