Ukrainian troops have been ordered to cease fire on Russian positions, just minutes after the start of the ” Easter truce ” announced by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

This was reported by the BBC with reference to a high-ranking Ukrainian officer . According to the interlocutor of the journalists, the Defense Forces units were ordered to record evidence of ceasefire violations by the Russian side on photos and videos. If necessary, to open fire in response.  

According to the officer, the ceasefire announcement “took everyone by surprise.” Furthermore, while most wanted a ceasefire, “there was still confusion at the front about what it would entail.” 

“Easter Truce”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced the introduction of an “Easter truce.” The Kremlin announced the cessation of hostilities from 6:00 p.m. on April 19 to 12:00 a.m. on April 21.

It is noteworthy that shortly after the start of the so-called “truce” in Ukraine, an air alert was declared due to the threat of the enemy using ballistic weapons. 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on the Kremlin’s statement, said that this is Putin’s attempt to “play with people’s lives .” According to him, this is confirmed by the presence of “Shaheeds” in Ukrainian airspace shortly after the Russian dictator’s announcement.
