The Ukrainian Defense Forces’ attack drones struck the Salavat oil refinery in the city of Salavat, in Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan.

Footage published by the Exilenova+ outlet shows the attack and the resulting fire.

The strike took place overnight on October 7–8, 2026, sparking a fire at the refinery.

According to local residents, the attack was carried out using drones.
The oil refinery itself has the capacity to process up to 10 million tonnes of hydrocarbon feedstock per year.

The main processes include the primary refining of crude oil and stabilized gas condensate, catalytic cracking, catalytic reforming, diesel fuel hydrotreating, and the production of aromatics, fuel oil, and bitumen.

The key unit is the ELOU-AVT-6, commissioned in 2012. It has a capacity of 6 million tonnes per year and is designed for the primary processing of crude oil.

Another primary processing unit, ELOU-AVT-4, has a capacity of approximately 4 million tonnes per year and is also used to process gas condensate.

However, according to satellite imagery dated July 14, 2026, all AVT-6 and AVT-4 oil-processing units sustained significant damage.

As a result of the attack, technical structures and pipelines supporting the operation of the production lines were damaged.

Militarnyi previously reported that a fire also broke out at the facility on August 13.

The Salavat oil refinery is part of Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, which is located approximately 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border.
