Ukrainian drones carried out a successful raid on a storage base for Iskander tactical missile systems.

Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces reported that the operation took place on the night of April 28.

The camouflaged equipment was located on the territory of a former missile base near the village of Ovrazhky, 40 kilometers east of occupied Simferopol.

“From there, the missiles could reach the front line or rear cities of Ukraine in a matter of minutes,” the Special Operations Forces noted.

Russian troops had hidden Iskander tactical missile systems in reinforced concrete shelters.

However, Ukrainian Middle Strike drones managed to penetrate the shelters and strike the systems.

During the raid, strike drones recorded the results of the operation: the released footage shows fires in the breached shelters.

The fires were monitored throughout the day by NASA FIRMS satellites, which displayed the fires on a map.

Local residents reported at night that a group of UAVs was moving through the Dzhankoy district toward the Bilohirsk district.

The so-called “Governor of Sevastopol,” Mikhail Razvozhayev, confirmed the drone attack in the morning and claimed that Russian air defense forces had allegedly shot down 20 UAVs.

This is not the first strike on these systems in Crimea this spring. In particular, in March, SOF drone operators destroyed a launcher of the Iskander system near the village of Vyshneve.

At that time, the camouflaged vehicle was already in the launch area, and the crew was preparing to launch the missiles.

  1. That’s incredible and a very important detail. I was wondering how the AFU was able to demolish high-end roach material. They must have advanced penetrator warheads on certain drones/cruise missiles/ballistic missiles.

    • I wouldn’t expect concrete made in mafia land to be of the highest quality. I can imagine by the time the mafia gang have stolen most of the resources, these concrete shelters are probably just sand with a little cement thrown in. If you look closely at the roof in the top image, it looks like it’s made from corrugated tin.

      • Maybe my eyes are getting bad, but I don’t see any corrugated sheetmetal. Either way, even if the concrete is not the best, it’s still probably strong enough to stop a regular drone or missile.
