The United States Chargé d’Affaires ai to Ukraine, Julie Davis, plans to leave her position. The Financial Times reports that the reason was disagreements with US President Donald Trump and the administration’s weakening support for Ukraine.
According to the publication, citing sources, Julie Davis plans to leave Kyiv in the coming weeks and end her diplomatic career after almost 30 years of service.
Davis has served as Chargé d’Affaires ad interim since May 2025. She has already notified the State Department of her departure.
The diplomat was disappointed with her role and a number of administration decisions, including personnel appointments, which she learned about from the media.
It is noteworthy that the previous US ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, also resigned for similar reasons. She resigned after three years of service in Ukraine – Brink had held her position since 2022.
