On the night of May 29, drones attacked Russia’s Yaroslavl region. Amid the shelling, authorities blocked traffic from Yaroslavl to Moscow.
Yaroslavl Region Governor Mikhail Evraev announced that the highway was closed “for security reasons” due to the threat of drone strikes. The Russian official wrote this on his Telegram channel around 4:00 AM.
“For safety reasons, traffic has been closed on the exit from Yaroslavl towards Moscow from the intersection of Moskovsky Prospekt and the South-West Ring Road,” the statement said.
Evraev also urged residents to refrain from traveling through the designated section of the road and its surrounding areas, or to choose alternative routes. Russians are asked to wait for alerts indicating the danger has been lifted.

The governor did not release any information about the attack’s aftermath in the region or other details. It was also reported that, following the attack, Rosaviatsiya implemented the “Carpet” plan at Yaroslavl Airport.
The network noted that the area cordoned off by authorities in Yaroslavl is home to an industrial zone, and a large oil refinery is located within it.
It’s worth noting that on the night of May 29, drones also launched a massive attack on Russia’s Volgograd region. Local authorities confirmed the attack, and OSINT analysts reported that an oil refinery in Volgograd had been hit. Following the attack, a fire broke out at the facility.
In early May, drones already attacked the Russian city of Yaroslavl: strikes were recorded on a local oil refinery.
