Drones Attacked the Afipsky Refinery in russia: Massive Fire

09/26/2025

On the night of September 26, the Ukrainian Defense Forces once again attacked the Afipsky Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. A fire broke out at the site.

Russian media are reporting on the attack. Local authorities confirmed the refinery was hit, but said it was “debris” and tried to downplay the consequences.

Attack details

Eyewitnesses to the incident were the first to report the arrival of the plane at the Afipsky Refinery and the fire that broke out at the enterprise.

“UAVs attacked the Afipsky refinery in the Krasnodar Territory. Eyewitnesses see a fire,” the Russian Cheka-OGPU Telegram channel wrote early Friday morning.

Contrary to usual practice, the event was confirmed quite quickly by the operational headquarters of this Russian region: they stated that the Afipsky refinery was “attacked and caught fire.”

But the causes of the fire, which were announced by local authorities, turned out to be quite traditional for Russian state propaganda – as well as attempts to minimize the consequences of the attack.

“The debris of the drone fell on one of the installations. There were no injuries. A fire broke out on an area of 30 square meters, which has already been extinguished. Operational and special services are working at the scene,” the report says.

At the same time, photos from the scene cast doubt on the claims about the “fire area of 30 sq m.”

According to the  Dnipro Osint Telegram channel , the attack most likely hit a primary oil refining facility (coordinates: 44.8837641043713, 38.817770564969194): it was its burning, according to the channel’s author, that was captured on video.

As OBOZ.UA wrote, this is not the first time that Ukrainian drones have attacked the Afipsky refinery. Reports of strikes on it and the Novokuibyshevsky refinery appeared, in particular, at the end of August. Then, powerful fires broke out at both plants.

Reports of attacks on the Afip refinery have been appearing periodically since 2023.

  1. Excellent! Ukraine is making sure that cockroaches cannot drive their cars anymore. This is becoming a real problem for the crime syndicate’s economy.
