In the early hours of July 29, strike drones targeted a fuel train at a major railway junction in the city of Salsk, Rostov Region.
Local residents reported a large fire breaking out at the site. The drone attack was later confirmed by the regional governor, according to Astra.
He stated that the strike allegedly hit two fuel tankers and a locomotive during the attack on the freight train.
Eyewitnesses observed the drones flying overhead and saw Russian troops attempting to shoot them down with small arms fire.
Russian Railways later reported that train traffic through the Salsk railway station had been suspended. They added that a freight train caught fire following the drone attack.
“Today, at 2:00 a.m., the operation of the overhead contact system at Salsk station in the Rostov region was disrupted due to falling drone debris. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties. A fire also broke out in a stationary freight train. Train traffic through the station has been suspended…” the Russian railway authorities stated.
At least nine passenger trains are currently known to be delayed.
Meanwhile, the Ukraine context|Russia no context Telegram channel published a photo showing a railway platform with a burning truck, likely a military vehicle.

It is claimed that the photo was taken at a key railway station in the Russian city of Salsk.
This may indicate that the target of the drone strike was a military train of the Russian occupation forces moving toward the Ukrainian border.
In the morning, the defense ministry of the aggressor state claimed that its air defense allegedly shot down 22 drones overnight over the territory of the Rostov region.
On the night of July 27, strike drones attacked a railway power substation in Russia’s Volgograd Region, which is part of the country’s military logistics network. As a result, a section of the railway running through Zhutovo station near the settlement of Oktyabrsky was left without power.

That pesky debris again. It’s time mafia land come up with a different excuse. This one is wearing as thin as the grass fires one.
Although, the grass fire excuse didn’t last that long. The debris one is getting quite old.
