What do they say to you?
When I first saw this photo this morning, I could not move. Her gaze pierced straight through my heart.

She is forever 19.

A girl who should have lived. Who should have fallen in love, traveled the world, made mistakes, laughed until her stomach hurt, created, discovered, become.

Instead, she died in uniform, serving her country. She was a soldier of Azov. She knew the risks. She knew she might not return. And still she went forward. She chose freedom over fear. Dignity over silence. Ukraine over herself.

Her body was shattered in this war, but her soul remains whole. Her courage remains untouched. Her dignity remains eternal.

On Monday, her family and friends will bury her. They will bury a daughter, a sister, a friend. And they will carry an unbearable grief that will never leave them. But they will also carry her fire. Her example. Her sacrifice.

Look again at these eyes.
They belong to a generation that is teaching us what freedom really costs. They belong to someone who had everything ahead of her, but gave it all away so that others could live free.

Russia came to destroy her, as they came to destroy Ukraine. To erase language, culture, memory, hope. To turn free people into slaves. But they will not succeed. Because eyes like these cannot be destroyed.

If you value freedom, if you value peace, if you value human dignity — do not look away.
Do not let her sacrifice be forgotten.

🔹 Share her portrait.
🔹 Light a candle.
🔹 Write: We see you. We honor you.

This 19-year-old girl gave her life for freedom.
The least we can do is make sure the world remembers her name, her face, her eyes.

She is forever 19.

Every time I see a face of one of the fallen it breaks my heart. So many people who’s lives were extinguished because a madman wanted to move lines on a map to satisfy his own ego. I think about how Europe was slow to respond, how decisions in Washington years before might have avoided this. Most of all my heart is filled with gratitude for the brave defenders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and all the Ukrainian people who continue to stand breach to defend the Gates of Europe, and the rest of the Free World.

  1. Unbearably sad.
May the rotting corpse of putinaZism and its putrid enablers in the west soon be completely extirpated.
