According to Oleg Zhdanov, Ukrainian forces are capable of damaging the bridge to make it impassable for heavy vehicles.
The Russians withdraw part of the equipment from the Crimea and strengthen air defense on the peninsula. They fear that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will damage the Crimean bridge. And if Ukraine simultaneously conducts a successful counter-offensive in the south, the occupiers will find themselves in a dead end.
This opinion was shared by military expert Oleg Zhdanov on the air of the national telethon.
The host asked the analyst to comment on the statement by the American Institute for the Study of War that the Russians are withdrawing equipment from the peninsula. In response, Zhdanov suggested what such actions might be related to.
“There is no reason not to believe British intelligence or the American intelligence community, so we will believe that they are withdrawing equipment. I mean the ground forces. And indeed, they are trying to close the sky from such strikes that are being inflicted on Crimea today. They are well aware that this is only the beginning And the fact that the equipment is being taken out indicates that they are well aware that the Crimean bridge could become the next target, not in terms of its destruction, but in terms of simply putting it out of action, so that it would not be possible to drive trains over it and columns of military equipment,” Zhdanov said.
The expert also referred to his previous statement about the potential problems of the occupiers in Crimea. If the Rashists are unable to supply equipment to the territory of the peninsula through the bridge, then they will find themselves in a dead end with no chance for reinforcements. The Russians are aware of such a danger, and this is probably the reason for the withdrawal of troops.
Recall that recently the media published information from a secret NATO report. It spoke about the redeployment of ten Russian aircraft from the peninsula to the mainland territory of the aggressor country. And today, on August 27, a new convoy of vehicles was seen in Crimea .

Best destroy it at the other end, then it can be used to control shipping that is russia bound!
I would love that but I’m not that optimistic at this point. We need much more explosive armaments I think.
Yeah, I have my doubts Ukraine can damage it, as we do not know yet if Ukraine indeed has long range missiles for the HIMARS.
And even these are not necessarily suitable to take out such large structures.
I think its destruction is in the hands of Uncle Joe.
However, maybe the Pentagon is right: Ukraine is still working on targets nearby and the Kherson bridges weren’t even properly damaged yet.
The Pentagon said that it is too early for those missiles and maybe they have a point. They are probably using 100% of the current capacity to destroy more immediate threats.
Most likely Crimea and the South of Kherson have enough weapons and ammo to keep the left bank of the Dnipro river supplied for quite a while (Putin had 8 years to build up stockpiles), so it is more important in the short term to cut off this left bank properly than to cut off Crimea.
Russia’s main logistical problem is to get weapons from Crimea to the frontlines, not from Russia to Crimea because everything they might need is already there.
Much of what they had in Crimea and Kherson region has already gone up in smoke.
Here is the latest view of the Antonovsky bridge. It looks very damaged to me, with one giant hole in it.

In other news, the cockroaches are sending heavy weapons to the peninsula. What’s true?
