Pavlo Lakiichuk, head of security programs at the Center for Global Studies Strategy XXI, stated that Ukraine’s Armed Forces are targeting and disrupting the russian army’s logistical routes in Crimea
He shared this information on Espreso TV.
“Crimea has become a major vulnerability for the russian forces, who initially believed its capture would offer a strategic advantage, but it has turned out to be the opposite. Crimea has two northern entrances—Chonhar and Perekop—and one eastern entrance via the Kerch Strait, which is a critical artery and much easier to sever. This is what the Ukrainian Defense Forces have exploited, destroying it both at the entrance and at the exit,” Lakiichuk explained.

According to the military expert, strikes on the Crimean Bridge and the Kerch ferry crossing have been devastating, not just painful. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently carrying out a shaping operation on the Crimean Peninsula. Although discussing the military prospects of Crimea’s liberation remains controversial, the Ukrainian military is doing everything possible, not only to weaken russian forces on the southern front but also, under the right conditions, to begin the peninsula’s liberation.
“Due to the firepower exerted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Crimea, it has become a ‘suitcase without a handle’ for russia. The russians are now forced to supply their forces on the peninsula via risky routes along the front line,” Lakiichuk added.
As reported by Defense Express, on December 31, for the first time in history, HUR Group 13 special forces successfully downed a russian Mi-8 helicopter using a Magura V5 maritime strike drone.

Not giving Ukraine the tools and the green light to destroy the Kerch Bridge ranks as one of the greatest blunders the West has committed during this war. Shame will forever accompany all those who are responsible for this utmost stupidity and gross act of cowardice.
I’ll eat my hat if the Ukrainians aren’t developing their own warhead to do the job.
