In New Moscow, a car of a Russian missile technology developer was blown up – it belonged to a developer of guidance systems and exploded in a courtyard among high-rise buildings on the morning of December 1.
The incident occurred in the courtyard of a house on Raduzhnaya Street, near the Grad Moskovsky residential complex, according to Russian media, including The Moscow Times.
The shock wave smashed windows in several apartments. A Land Cruiser 200 Prado instantly caught fire and burned down completely.
Emergency Ministry rescuers arrived quickly, but the car could not be saved. There was no one inside.
Nobody was injured. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
Initially, it was assumed that it could have been caused by an error in the remote engine start.
Local residents say that the owner of the car had recently moved into the house. At the time of the explosion, he was on a business trip to Southeast Asia.
According to 112, he is a 41-year-old doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, a specialist in quantum electronics at the Polyus Scientific Research Institute.
